8 sticks of cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, or your favorite type)
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 large eggs, beaten
1 cup breadcrumbs (plain or seasoned)
Cooking spray or olive oil spray
Instructions:
Prepare the Ham and Cheese Sticks:
Lay out a slice of ham on a clean surface. Place a cheese stick at one end of the ham slice and roll the ham tightly around the cheese. Repeat with the remaining ham slices and cheese sticks.
Coat the Ham and Cheese Sticks:
Set up a breading station with three shallow bowls. Place the flour in one bowl, the beaten eggs in the second bowl, and the breadcrumbs in the third bowl.
Dip each ham-wrapped cheese stick first in the flour, shaking off any excess. Then dip it in the beaten eggs, allowing any excess egg to drip off. Finally, roll it in the breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere. Repeat with all the ham and cheese sticks.
Preheat the Air Fryer:
Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 3-5 minutes.
Air Fry the Ham and Cheese Sticks:
Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray or olive oil spray to prevent sticking.
Arrange the coated ham and cheese sticks in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Make sure they are not touching to ensure even cooking.
Lightly spray the tops of the ham and cheese sticks with more cooking spray or olive oil spray.
Cook the Ham and Cheese Sticks:
Air fry the ham and cheese sticks at 375°F (190°C) for about 6-8 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy. You may want to flip them halfway through the cooking time to ensure even browning.
Serve:
Once cooked, carefully remove the ham and cheese sticks from the air fryer basket and let them cool slightly before serving.
Enjoy:
Serve the air-fried ham and cheese sticks hot with your favorite dipping sauce, such as marinara sauce, ranch dressing, or honey mustard.
Tips:
Cheese Selection: Mozzarella cheese works well for a gooey, stretchy texture, but you can experiment with other cheeses like cheddar or Swiss for different flavors.
Prevent Cheese Melting Out: To avoid cheese melting out during cooking, make sure the ham is wrapped tightly and the breading is even and fully covers the cheese.
Batch Cooking: If your air fryer is small, you may need to cook the ham and cheese sticks in batches.
