Here’s a simple sandwich bread recipe for you!
Ingredients
- 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons instant yeast
- 1 cup warm water (about 110°F or 43°C)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast.
- Add Wet Ingredients: Pour in the warm water and melted butter. Stir until the mixture forms a rough dough.
- Knead the Dough: Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes, or until smooth and elastic. You can also use a stand mixer with a dough hook for this step.
- First Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean cloth or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place until it doubles in size, about 1-1.5 hours.
- Shape the Loaf: Punch down the dough to release the air, then turn it out onto a floured surface. Shape it into a loaf and place it in a greased 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- Second Rise: Cover the loaf with a cloth and let it rise again until it’s about 1 inch above the rim of the pan, about 30-45 minutes.
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake: Bake the bread for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown and it sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
- Cool: Remove the loaf from the pan and let it cool on a wire rack before slicing.
