gluten free cinnamon roll

Making gluten-free cinnamon rolls involves using gluten-free flours and ensuring that all ingredients are free of gluten. Here’s a basic recipe for gluten-free cinnamon rolls:

Gluten-Free Cinnamon Rolls:

Ingredients:

For the Dough:

  • 2 1/4 cups gluten-free all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm milk (about 110°F or 43°C)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

For the Filling:

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

For the Frosting:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1-2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Activate Yeast:
    • In a small bowl, combine warm milk and sugar. Sprinkle the yeast over the mixture and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Prepare Dough:
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine gluten-free flour and salt. Add the melted butter, egg, vanilla extract, and the activated yeast mixture. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead and Rise:
    • Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for a few minutes. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-1.5 hours or until doubled in size.
  4. Roll Out Dough:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll out the risen dough on a floured surface into a rectangle (approximately 12×16 inches).
  5. Add Filling:
    • Spread softened butter over the dough, leaving a border around the edges. Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon evenly over the butter.
  6. Roll and Cut:
    • Starting from one long edge, tightly roll the dough into a log. Cut into 12 equal slices.
  7. Place in Pan:
    • Arrange the slices in a greased baking dish. Allow some space between each roll.
  8. Bake:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the rolls are golden brown.
  9. Make Frosting:
    • While the rolls are baking, prepare the frosting by combining powdered sugar, softened butter, milk, and vanilla extract. Adjust the consistency by adding more milk if needed.
  10. Frost Cinnamon Rolls:
    • Once the rolls are out of the oven and slightly cooled, drizzle the frosting over the top.
  11. Serve and Enjoy:
    • Serve the gluten-free cinnamon rolls warm and enjoy!

Feel free to adjust the filling or frosting to suit your preferences. Additionally, always check that all ingredients used are gluten-free.
