Making homemade bread in an air fryer is a quick and convenient way to enjoy freshly baked bread without using an oven. Here’s a simple recipe for air fryer bread:

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water (110°F/43°C)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Additional olive oil or melted butter for brushing (optional)
  • Sesame seeds or herbs for topping (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Activate the Yeast:
    • In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until the mixture becomes frothy, indicating that the yeast is activated.
  2. Prepare the Dough:

  3. Knead the Dough:
    • Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. You can also use a stand mixer with a dough hook for this step.
  4. First Rise:
    • Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours or until it has doubled in size.
  5. Punch Down and Shape:
    • Punch down the risen dough to release the air. Transfer it to a floured surface and shape it into a loaf or divide it into smaller portions for rolls.
  6. Second Rise:
    • Place the shaped dough on a parchment-lined tray and cover it with a damp cloth. Allow it to rise for another 30-45 minutes.
  7. Preheat the Air Fryer:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (180°C) for about 5 minutes.
  8. Air Fry the Bread:
    • Place the shaped dough in the air fryer basket. Air fry at 350°F (180°C) for 15-20 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
  9. Optional Brushing and Topping:
    • If desired, brush the top of the bread with olive oil or melted butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds or herbs.
  10. Cool and Slice:
    • Allow the air-fried bread to cool on a wire rack before slicing.
