Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 10-12 minutes
Total Time: 25-27 minutes
Recipe Intensity: Easy
Ingredients:
- 2 large onions, peeled and sliced into 1/2-inch rings
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko breadcrumbs for extra crunch)
- Cooking spray or oil spray
Instructions:
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 3-5 minutes.
- In a shallow bowl, mix together the flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs until well combined.
- Place the breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
- Dip each onion ring into the flour mixture, ensuring it’s coated evenly, then dip it into the beaten eggs, and finally coat it with breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere the breadcrumbs to the onion ring. Repeat this process for all the onion rings.
- Lightly coat the air fryer basket with cooking spray or oil spray to prevent sticking.
- Arrange the breaded onion rings in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they are not overlapping.
- Spray the tops of the onion rings with a little more cooking spray or oil spray for extra crispiness.
- Air fry the onion rings at 400°F (200°C) for about 10-12 minutes, flipping them halfway through cooking, until they are golden brown and crispy.
- Once done, remove the crispy onion rings from the air fryer and let them cool slightly before serving.
- Serve the air fryer onion rings hot as a snack or side dish with your favorite dipping sauce.
Note: Cooking times may vary depending on the size and thickness of your onion rings and the efficiency of your air fryer. Keep an eye on them towards the end of cooking to prevent burning.
