Air fryer banana and walnut cake

Making banana and walnut cake in an air fryer is a quick and convenient way to enjoy a delicious dessert. Here’s a simple recipe for air fryer banana and walnut cake:

  • 2 to 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

  1. Preheat Air Fryer:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 320°F (160°C). If your air fryer doesn’t have a preheat function, turn it on for a few minutes before placing the cake inside.
  2. Prepare Cake Batter:
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, melted butter, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
  3. Sift Dry Ingredients:
    • In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:
    • Gradually add the sifted dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  5. Fold in Walnuts:
    • Gently fold in the chopped walnuts into the batter.
  6. Grease and Add Batter to Pan:
    • Grease the bottom and sides of the air fryer baking pan or cake pan that fits inside your air fryer. Pour the batter into the pan and spread it evenly.
  7. Air Fry the Cake:
    • Place the cake pan in the preheated air fryer basket. Air fry at 320°F (160°C) for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Check for Doneness:
    • Check the cake’s doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center. If it comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs, the cake is ready.
  9. Cool and Serve:
    • Allow the cake to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Slice and Enjoy:
    • Once the cake is completely cool, slice and enjoy your air fryer banana and walnut cake!

Feel free to customize the recipe by adding cinnamon, nutmeg, or other spices for extra flavor. You can also drizzle the cooled cake with a simple glaze or dust it with powdered sugar before serving. Enjoy your delicious homemade dessert!
