Air Fryer Pita Pizza

Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 5-7 minutes
Total Time: 10-12 minutes
Recipe Intensity: Easy

Ingredients:

  • 2 whole wheat or white pita bread rounds
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce or marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Your choice of pizza toppings (e.g., pepperoni, sliced bell peppers, onions, olives, mushrooms, etc.)
  • Olive oil or cooking spray

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 3-5 minutes.
  2. Place the pita bread rounds on a clean work surface.
  3. Spread a generous amount of pizza sauce or marinara sauce evenly over each pita bread round, leaving a small border around the edges.
  4. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce, covering the entire surface of the pita bread.
  5. Add your desired pizza toppings over the cheese. Be mindful not to overload the pita bread to prevent toppings from falling off during cooking.
  6. Lightly brush the edges of the pita bread with olive oil or spray them with cooking spray. This helps the edges crisp up nicely.
  7. Carefully transfer the prepared pita pizzas to the air fryer basket. You may need to cook them in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
  8. Air fry the pita pizzas at 400°F (200°C) for about 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the edges of the pita bread are crispy and golden brown.
  9. Once done, remove the pita pizzas from the air fryer using tongs or a spatula and transfer them to a cutting board.
  10. Let the pizzas cool for a minute before slicing them into wedges.
  11. Serve the air fryer pita pizzas hot and enjoy!

Note: Cooking times may vary slightly depending on the thickness of the pita bread and the toppings used. Keep an eye on the pizzas during cooking to avoid burning.

Feel free to customize your air fryer pita pizzas with your favorite toppings, herbs, or seasonings for a delicious and personalized meal.
