Garlic Butter Steak

Garlic butter steak is a delicious and simple dish that’s perfect for a special meal. Here’s a basic recipe for making garlic butter steak:

Ingredients:

  • 2 sirloin steaks or your preferred cut (about 1 inch thick)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (for searing)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Steaks:
    • Take the steaks out of the refrigerator about 30 minutes before cooking to bring them to room temperature.
    • Pat the steaks dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
    • Season both sides of the steaks generously with salt and black pepper.
  2. Preheat the Pan:
    • Heat a cast-iron skillet or a heavy pan over medium-high heat. Add the olive oil and let it get hot.
  3. Sear the Steaks:
    • Place the steaks in the hot pan and sear for about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, adjusting the time based on your preferred doneness.
    • Use tongs to flip the steaks and sear the edges briefly to seal in the juices.
    • Adjust the heat if needed to avoid burning the garlic later.
  4. Make Garlic Butter:
    • In the last minute of cooking the steaks, add 2 tablespoons of butter to the pan.
    • Add minced garlic to the butter and let it cook for about 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
  5. Baste the Steaks:
    • Tilt the pan slightly and use a spoon to baste the steaks with the garlic-infused butter. This adds flavor and helps keep the steaks moist.
  6. Rest the Steaks:
    • Once the steaks reach your desired doneness, remove them from the pan and let them rest on a cutting board for about 5 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute.
  7. Serve:
    • Slice the steaks against the grain and drizzle with the remaining garlic butter from the pan.
    • Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.

Enjoy your garlic butter steak with your favorite side dishes like mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad. It’s a simple yet flavorful dish that’s sure to impress!
