air fryer chicken tenders

Air fryer chicken tenders are a quick and easy dish that turns out crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Here’s a simple recipe for air fryer chicken tenders:

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound (about 450g) chicken tenders
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional for added flavor)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking spray or oil for spraying

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  2. Prepare Breading Stations:
    • Set up three shallow bowls. In the first bowl, place the flour. In the second bowl, beat the eggs. In the third bowl, combine breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan (if using), garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Coat Chicken Tenders:
    • Dredge each chicken tender in the flour, shaking off excess. Dip it into the beaten eggs, and then coat it evenly with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
  4. Arrange in Air Fryer Basket:
    • Place the breaded chicken tenders in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not touching each other.
  5. Air Fry:
    • Spray the breaded tenders with cooking spray or brush them lightly with oil. Cook in the preheated air fryer for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the chicken is golden brown and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  6. Serve:
    • Once cooked, remove the chicken tenders from the air fryer, let them rest for a few minutes, and serve with your favorite dipping sauce.

These air fryer chicken tenders are not only delicious but also healthier compared to traditional deep-fried versions. Feel free to customize the seasonings or serve them with a variety of dipping sauces for added flavor!
