Ribeye Steak in air fryer

  • 2 ribeye steaks (about 1 inch thick)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • Olive oil or melted butter (for brushing)
  • Optional: Garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, or your favorite steak seasoning


  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  2. Season the ribeye steaks generously with salt and pepper on both sides. You can also add any additional seasonings you prefer, such as garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, or a steak seasoning blend.
  3. Lightly brush both sides of the seasoned steaks with olive oil or melted butter. This helps to enhance the flavor and promotes browning.
  4. Place the seasoned and oiled ribeye steaks in the air fryer basket in a single layer. If your air fryer is small, you may need to cook the steaks in batches.
  5. Air fry the ribeye steaks at 400°F (200°C) for about 12-15 minutes, flipping them halfway through cooking. For medium-rare doneness, aim for an internal temperature of around 130-135°F (54-57°C) measured with a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the steak.
  6. Once done, remove the ribeye steaks from the air fryer and let them rest for a few minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute within the meat for maximum flavor and tenderness.
  7. Optionally, you can slice the ribeye steaks against the grain before serving to make them easier to eat and to showcase the beautiful marbling of the meat.
  8. Serve the air fryer ribeye steaks hot with your favorite side dishes, such as roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad.
